Hey folks, we're leaving Athens in just a few hours, on our way down to Crete, where we'll spend most of the next week. Athens has been a lot of fun. It's always good to see folks and visit places you haven't seen in several years. Our weather has been pretty much perfect all week long, so that's enhanced the overall experience.
A few odd notes:
1. We've encountered tortoises on this trip. Yes, tortoises. We're up to either 4 or 5 so far, and we've seen them in odd places. Not sure why they're here and why I never saw even 1 back when I lived here. Weird.
2. Ran into some rather ignorant folks at the Temple of Poseidon yesterday, out at the edge of this region. There are very clear barriers that keep guests from touching the actual temple, but these two bright individuals chose to walk past those barriers -- twice. Ugh.
3. We visited an art museum yesterday, featuring various art pieces from the 19th and 20th century here in Greece. Wasn't something I would have planned to see, but my brother thought it would be a good idea, and he was right.
Well, that's enough for no. I'll update sometime while in Crete, and pics once we're back in the States. Cya!
